In this important election year, we invite you to celebrate our two-year anniversary with us!
In 2016, FairVote California (FVCA), a project of FairVote, launched to seize the opportunity to advance fairer, more inclusive elections through strategic research, advocacy, organizing, and coalition building. California’s great diversity and history of enacting trailblazing changes make it a prime target for electoral reform, including advancement of ranked choice voting (RCV) and reflective representation in local and state elected office.
Since our launch, FVCA has conducted community presentations, trainings, and distributed more than 5,000 RCV education handouts in English, Spanish, and Chinese to voters and stakeholders. FVCA is also working with allies across the state who see opportunities to implement RCV to eliminate costly low turnout primary or runoff elections, or election results that do not reflect the will of the voters.
We hope that you will join us with our special guests: Oakland City Councilmember Dan Kalb, CA Redistricting Commissioner Cynthia Dai, San Francisco Elections Commissioner Chris Jerdonek, UNB2 Founder Kimberly Ellis, and Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin. There are nearly 70 candidates in San Francisco and the East Bay running for over a dozen seats including mayor, supervisor, city council, and school board in competitive RCV races. Don’t miss out!
Light appetizers and beverages will be served.
